Do you have what it takes to be a leader? Do you know how an understanding of science and math can change your future?
leaderSTATE is a week-long leadership immersion camp at Mississippi State University. While attending leaderSTATE, JROTC students will make new friends, expand their leadership capabilities, enhance their math and science skills, and develop a can-do attitude. Participants must have impeccable character, a keen sense of responsibility and a willingness to work hard to achieve honorable goals. Each camp will be diverse in gender, race and socioeconomic status.
There will be six sessions and each is set to last one week (Monday – Friday). This life changing experience begins by increasing campers’ self-awareness and understanding of their peers through personality analyses and specialized learning activities that will help them communicate more effectively. They learn team-building and conflict resolution skills while working in their small groups solving math and science related challenges. These real-life activities are designed to develop the whole person and empower high school students to Take Charge of Their Life.
